Sarginsons Precision Components

Sarginsons Precision Components is a Light Alloy Foundry and has been developed to manufacture aluminium castings utilising the latest technology and manufacturing processes.

Materials

Aluminium Alloys to BS1490:1988 specifications

Primary ranges:-

LM 2, LM 4, LM 6, LM 9, LM13, LM 20, LM 22, LM 25 and comparative American standards European specifications.

Manufacturing Process

(i) Gravity die casting using : -

• Fully automated Robotic Metal Pouring Facility to multiple die cells
• Fully automated Tilt Pour machines.
• Semi and fully automated hydraulic free standing dies.
• Conventional mechanically operated dies.

(ii) Precision sand casting from:-

• Stereo Lithographical models (SLA`s), Laminated Object Manufacture models (LOM`s) and precision pattern tooling, giving Sarginsons Precision Components the ability to meet any prototype or production volumes, a customer may require.
• Mechanized carousel manufacturing.

(iii) Sand Cores

Used in production of Gravity die castings and Sand castings when applicable.

Quality Assurance

Supplying a quality product to our customer is our primary concern and to assist us in this goal, the following quality assurance methodologies and tooling are employed:-

• Advance Quality Planning, including FMEA`s, Control Plans etc.
• Statistical Process Control Techniques

• Stiefelmayer three dimensional co-ordinate Computorised Measuring Machine.

Sarginsons embrace the working practice of planning, monitoring and control of all aspects of a project and the motivation of all those involved in it to achieve the project objectives on time and to the specific cost, quality and performance taking designs through to supplying fully machined, assembled and finished components.

Where Sarginsons are required to subcontract services, due to the specifications of customers, we tier the processing of the part to preferred suppliers who compliment the core business activities of our company.

To meet the increasing needs of our customers Sarginsons have simultaneously met with the requirements of customers by the investment in people and technology.

The `Concept to Reality` envelops what Sarginsons has to offer.

Our continuous investment in CAD CAM and other expensive design facilities allows engineering ideals to be developed and improved through the use of the aforementioned facilities.

Once the original concept has been formatted into an acceptable production part, the improvements in foundry production methods will enhance yield, quality and subsequently have an affect on costs.

Manufacturing method automation is driven by advancements within the industry and is installed and developed in our company by our Technical Department in conjunction with the engineering and toolroom business units operating from the same site.
